The Band's First Number One Single
Loda was the band's first number one single in the UK singles chart. The BBC limited its airplay right at the time because they thought it was about the ongoing Northern Ireland conflicts but it wasn't. It was about a riot that took place at Attica State Prison in September 1971. 33 inmates and 10 correctional officers so it was about that not about the Northern Ireland conflict at all. And I want to talk about Stephen Ray, an elusive, clever half-forward from St Kilda. He had 11 displays and kicked a goal before he dislocated his knee for Richmond against Carlton their following week. So unfortunately, you know what? You're a representing Poop.
