The Imagery of the Day of the Lord in the Book of Revelation
The book of joel began with devastated fields and empty wine presses due to the locust plague. The outcome of this great judgment and deliverance is described in the verses that conclude the chapter. Imagery of judgment as a harvest is found elsewhere in scripture, in both pos and negative forms. For instance, revelation chapter 14 draws upon the imagery of joel chapter three.
