Paul, Grace has these four maxims of good writing: clarity, brevity, whatever. And so the French violate these systematically, not just "accidentally," but like as a race they do. Cirl is even talking admiringly about both of the figures he mentions, Bordeaux and Foucault. He called Foucault's ideas brilliant.
