Heliogin - A New Approach to Solar Energy Storage
The company installed acres of merrers on a large field and used enough computing power to point all of those mirrors so precisely that they reflected the beams of sunlight from a whole acre of land down to a single spot. Heliogin was able to cut through that problem by using rocks and sand. We take that heat, we direct it into a storage tank full of rocks or sand. Rocks and sand are very, very inexpensive. You can make them very, very hot, almost like a piece of stone in your oven.
