The Origins of the Word Global Warming
The term global warning went mainstream in the late 80s when NASA scientists by the name of James Hansen, he testified before Congress that the scientific community could ascribe a cause and effect relationship between greenhouse gases and global warming. In 1956 rather the physicist Gilbert Plass, he published a seminal study called the carbon dioxide theory of climate change. Now with another decade the term climate change was common use and embedded in the name of the international panel on climate change, the IPCC which was formed in 1988.
