The Golem in Michelangelo's Stone

When Michelangelo sees the stone what comes out of him is not an angel of David but instead he sees golem. This reflects his experience of reality and this reflects his strongest passions. When he releases his energy upon the stone he's trying to pull out of it horror and pain and suffering and something that's deadening. Modern society has this effect because most of the artists in modern society suffer so they become the ones who get this preponderance.
