The Importance of Self-Transcending in an AI World

Sophocles' Ode on Man suggests that we don't know who we are, and that there is no self that we can retreat to as a homeland. We're always outside of ourselves, beyond ourselves, in the midst of the strange. The only place to make ourselves at home is in our own estrangement. So I think if we begin with the assumption that there is, we do not know who we Are, and that we're always beyond ourselves. That's a marvelous answer to my question.
