China's social credit scheme is an exportable system that are deeply appealing to a lot of tyrants. Historically China had not exported its model, it was very happy to be essentially a country that would get tribute from the tribe and neighboring countries. The Belt and Road Initiative is really showing an ability to think big,. I think the West has actually to some extent forgotten the idea of thinking big.
