Elliot: I was interested in the different ways in which oppressive system fucks up people. You have people who choose to join the oppressor class, people who basically keep their heads down and get over it. And then you have the main character who decides to make a break for it and actually escapes, but not really. So it's a kind of story about how traumatic systems can impact people in various ways.
