Suhravardi's Theory of Knowledge by Presence
Aristotle seems to be acquainted with Avasena's famous flying man argument and the attendant idea that we are all permanently aware of ourselves. If you can directly apprehend yourself then you can also apprehend other things directly, such as the color green or any particular object you might see or hear. This expansion of direct self-awareness is a real epistemological breakthrough. It enables Suhravardi to present individual acts of sense perception as the foundation of all our knowledge.
