What Is Chloride and Table Salt on Mars?
These former salt lakes were discovered in two thousand and eight by the mars odyssey spacecraft. chloride is a c l just like the table salt you might be staring at if you're listening to this over breakfast or dinner. And these have been a puzzle since they were first discovered. They occur in irregular deposits there. Not well organized in layers, but scattered across the surface of the southern highlands of mars.
