In 19 forty seven, under president truman, who moved to condition non interference and support for democracy on the maintenance of order. Thomas man said that, you know, people don't want unrestrained capitals. They want social democracy t it was a widespread support for some kind of ny h as set up in great britain. No less in latin america, there was a sense that the allies victory meant not just an expansion of democracy, but meant an expansion of social democracy. Forty four, forty six saw this remarkable period of hope and mobilization and a democratic spring and tha transition to social democracy.
