The People's Temple

Jim Jones was not just building a political organization or a religious movement, he wanted a family. The People's Temple from beginning to end preached that American society and capitalism were inherently alienating. By the late 1960s would have some half a million young Americans going out of the commune movement. They worked together, they celebrated together and when tragedy struck, they supported each other and grieved together.
