I think it's the insecurity to have value. I mean, when you try to overcompensate, it's because there's a lack of something and you're doing it. Some artists who are literally like their ideas are not new, not original. If you're great at bullshit, you will be very successful. You could be the most talented artist who's genuinely doing new, innovative ideas. But if you are not good at fucking marketing yourself, you're fine.
