REM Sleep Is Good for Memory
There are electro physiological signatures of memory processing happening during stage two sleep. It's helping orchestrate a rehearsal of the experiences that you've had while you're sleeping. A 60 minute nap would give you both stage two and slow wave sleep. And those slow waves have been shown to be important for perceptual processing.
