How to Write a Great Job Description

When we craft a job description there are two components. There are the base things that are just necessary for that role, generically. But also include a couple bullet points that speak to things we specifically need. So when I'm looking through your resume or a cover letter, which cover letters seem to have died, but FYI, I love cover letters. Cover letters is like that handshake. You're not fresh out of school. You're bringing professional expertise from a different domain. I really wanna connect with that and I want you to understand how your skills are gonna transfer into your research practice."
