"There's now become a commercial model for people to make weirder films that can get wide distribution," he says. "I think you see a little bit of, I mean, the whole sort of elevated horror conversation, which can get really exhausting." He adds: "Even if like 90% of people are walking out upset or indifferent, there's just enough people who are going to see it and be like, well, there was something there that I can't stop thinking about!"
