What Are Some of the Risk Factors That Predispose Patients to Getting HIV?
A heavy dose of reassurance and explaining to the patients exactly what this diagnosis means. Drug use, even drugs that are not injectable can increase risk if people have sex and exchange for safe housing or food or shelter. A third risk factor that I like to tell people to be mindful of is concurrent partnerships. So know your status and know your status often if you start a new relationship.
