Three P.O. Units Have Been Around Longer Than Just the Prequels
The Phantom Menace establishes that both were online 32 events 32 years prior to the events of a new hope. So are they clearly emerging on obsolete by the time we reach the original trilogy or are they like that's a huge assumption to make? I think like at this point in time three P.O. was made out of junk. Like Anakin built him out of garbage. But even at the Lars homestead like he finally got his final final fittings but they were super old and rusty. They're basically humans. And it's literally Anthony Daniels in his suit.
