Arotic 80s began with a prologue. Talking about censorship and pornography led us to also talk about the feminist response to sex in popular culture. Anita Hill's allegations of sexual harassment against Supreme Court nominee Thomas would feel like a cataclysm that had defined much of what the 90s were all about. The fall of communism in Eastern Europe and the thawing of the Cold War convinced some that we had reached the end of history.
