Is There a Difference Between Inflation and Declation?

Chris Evans: Can each of you in layman's terms define inflation versus deflation as simply as possible? Fred Rooker, who want you to take it? This is what I do with my textbook, so hopefully I'm going to get it right. So inflation is an increase in the price level. What do we mean by the price level? It's the average level of prices. Now, there's a little tricky issues, whether you use the CPI, PC deflator, because there's different weights on different goods.
