The Effects of Eisenhower's Liberation of Paris on the Allies
Eisenhower's plan was to go around Paris, certainly, General Bradley was very much opposed to taking Paris. The amount of tonnage that was then devoted to Paris never made it to the front lines. And whether that had a significant impact, I don't know, but you certainly are losing some of your resources to take care of Paris rather than pursue the enemy.
