Training for an Endurance Race

The evils of over training and overtraining can be such a horrible problem to overcome. Gavity, i've seen a lot of endurance athletes suffer because of this in their forties and fifties,. with ata tribilation, heart failure, cadio, myopasy on and on and on. I'm thinking that there is some cross over benefit where if you're competent at wading up a heavy bar and doing squats and do dead lifts, that's going to trans over nicely to your running goals.
