The History of American Disability Advocacy
The ADA is a significant piece of civil rights legislation that has profoundly changed the way American society operates. The fight for the rights of Americans with disabilities started long before the bill was signed into law. We're going to take a look at that history today on the actual anniversary of the ADA, because while this was momentous legislation, it wasn't perfect. And we still have a lot of work to do to bring equity to the millions of Americans living with disabilities.
