We are indexing the code as text, because that's what it is like when you are quoting somting or scripting something. Stack overflow files have loads of information from really knowlegeable people about how to split a string. With dot py document, you don't have that. You have the code, which usually is not that verbos - but if there were comments in the code, i guess they would be included.
