Violence Is the Default State of the Human Race
I think obviously poverty, in a sense that there is no escape from one's circumstances, does create the conditions for crime. But often it's just a way of life that gets passed on through the culture, andand it has to be combated at that level. To be able to do violence in that way is celebrated in some senses, what a lot of history has been for men in our species. So i think it's a mistake to a to say that there are special socida circumstances that cause crime that we can eliminate. It may just be the truth. May be the opposite.
