In Congress, Todd Blanche’s confirmation is on the brink. A committee vote to advance his nomination as attorney general has been delayed after Sens. John Cornyn (R-TX) and Thom Tillis (R-NC) expressed concerns about Trump's IRS settlement deal — demanding a written guarantee that any audit shield would only cover past tax returns, not future ones.
