Some people have said that India is in danger of turning into a gerontocracy. The majority of the country's population is definitely under 30 years old. It would be difficult to put in place a sort of cut off age, whereby MPs should stop either contesting elections or entering parliament. There is no democracy probably anywhere where there is a retirement age for politicians.
