What Is a Supernova?
In 1573, Tycho's name would become well known in astronomical circles when he published de nova Stella. It is now known that the new star he was witnessing was actually a supernova. His discovery was another proverbial nail in the coffin for the world view that Aristotle held that the heavens beyond the moon were perfect and did not change.
