Suicide is the tenth leading cause of death in the united states, with about 50 thousand people dying by suicide. I think this number has actually gone up a little bit since the presentation was made. There are many reasons why people commit suicide that may not necessarily have to do with psychopathology. We need to be really careful about that in this community.
