The wife carrying originated in sweden or finland, or one of those scandinavian places. It was because rival tribes would go and raid the tribes women and carry them off to be their wives. Now it's like this fun event where you can carry any old woman, or any one can be your wife,. And there's that girl that's won it like four times, cause she' literally just hurls herself down. People wit broken arms, leg tal or eves after that.
