Mendalian Randomization of Cancer and Alcohol Consumption

Mendalian randomization studies are based on the idea that certain genetic variants predispose people to higher or lower levels of exposure to a rist factor, in this case, alcohol. But factors like age, race, other medical conditions, where they live, what kind of work they do should be similar between the two groups. Study shows there appears to be no beneficial effect on current heart disease of alcohol consumption and a substantial adverse effect on overall cind of asculo disease.
