How to Train a Language Model for a Calculator
There is quite a bit of work on not necessarily training these models only to generate text, but to train them to use tools as well. If your machine learning system is interfaced with a calculator or even a programming language, or a database, then in theory, your language model would able to output a query for the calculator and get the result from that query. There are companies out there, started by my friends, who are doing exactly this.
