Using Primordial Germ Cell Like Cells From Rat Pluripotent Stem Cells
Scientist in Japan has been able to create healthy, fertile rats from sperm that are derived from rat pluripotent stem cells. This is a very big deal, as i'm sure you would agree agree with. I think there was a caviot here that i don't think there was able to be natural mating with these particular animals. O so it seems like, in addition to the mouse where this is already kind of possible, deriving primordial germ cells, precursors of sperm and egg from s mousess,. Now, it looks the rat has joined that club.
