Open Source and the M I T License
The m i t license was conceived 30 years ago, 20 lines of light, legal ease. It's an explicit rejection of strong property rights approach taken by both gates and stallmen at their respective ends of the libetarian spectrum. M i t license is often lumped in with other open source licenses because of its compatibility with the likes of g p l or other copy left licenses. That makes it seem like the'r really just flavors of the same thing. But they're not. In many ways, i consider them i t license under which railtos distribute it, to be as different from copy left licenses like the g p l as it is from commercial proprietors off
