Is There a Parallel Between Lacan and Zee-Zek?
The abjaya is a revolutionary way of thinking about desire. It takes as its point of departure, Freud's discovery of the unconscious and then kind of goes out of that. Lacan himself developed it over the course of his career. I think part of Zee-Zek's concern with universalism is tied to his interest in Hegel who's very much a universalist philosopher.
