In 1985, 86, no one thought the Soviet Union would collapse. When Walter wrote those lectures, socialism was winning around the world. The idea of like a genuinely victorious possibility of actually existing socialism is so mind-blowing for me. So it's something I've been living with, like he said, 40 years.
