I've just never felt comfortable that it resonated in a way that didn't make it a morality tale. I mean it always felt like it was really for white men to tell their white daughters not to date black men because this is what will happen. And so again Shakespeare is talking about how we operate, how humans operate in this system by which there's the haves and the haves not. The haves are very happy to keep this dynamic going on down there.
