Theravada Buddhism's Relationship to Other Religions in Southeast Asia
Brooke: These are majority Theravada countries but they do have like an important part of their existence in society is how they relate to other kinds of religions and then historically. There's definitely a feeling of competition I try and show different ways that the possible two work together in some kinds of dialogue that people have entered into. Christianity and Islam cannot be integrated into Buddhism because they're just two totally different systems there's no way you can reconcile karma and rebirth and nibana with a monotheistic god, she says.
