Is There a Legislation That Will Make Section 230 Better?
Matt Welch: I don't think an outcome is the one where chat GPT and other generative AI tools are just entirely off the hook. He says we need a liability regime that requires companies to bear costs aligned with the social costs of the products they produce in the world. Welch: Tech platforms have basically argued that Section 230, for the most part, shouldn't be changed. We're going to keep talking about it for a long time to come, he says.
