We need to exercise foresight, right? Like it's not obvious to technology developers who are building quote unquote fundamental or general systems that they have a responsibility to think about the downstream applications of this work. And then we need to think about sandbox testing, for example. So testing how, let's say, a change to an information sharing platform might affect the spread of misinformation. You can test this kind of stuff in a sense of environment. It's just not necessarily done because it obviously slows down the production process,. But in order to do these things responsibly, you sometimes have to be a bit slower and it will pay off in the long run.
