CHAPTER

Climate Change

Jeff McMullen says we always have a moral reason to do what will cause better off people to exist rather than different, less well off people. Producing climate change is not wrong because it'll be worse for anybody who exists in the future,. Rather it's wrong because it involves causing lessWell-off people to exist instead of different, better off people. But even if we accept Parfits non-identity point, surely we'll still want to insist that not tackling climate change would be a moral failing? We must think about these issues in an entirely different way.
