The Paradox of a Parallel Culture to Secular Culture
I was born into the Samur sect. The community makes no apologies about trying to battle with a very powerful secular dominant culture and retain its distinct way of life. There is an intentional effort to keep the children in by keeping them sheltered from the outside world, which by definition doesn't prepare you then to go on and leave. That's just the very obvious outcome of having a parallel culture to secular culture. Just as if you and you decide to join us in a community, you would be enormously handicapped.
