The Conspiracy Theory of Jedediah Morse

A Massachusetts minister named Jedediah Morse becomes obsessed with the Illuminati, an offshoot of the Freemasons. He dedicates his life to preaching and writing tracks about how the Illuminati is out there trying to quote, root out and abolish Christianity in America. According to Morse, they opposed marriage, encouraged people to explore all kinds of sensual pleasures and proposed a promiscuous intercourse among the sexes.
