The Different Types of COVID Muscle Injury

COVID can cause myelges and fatigue, which interestingly may not correlate with the severity of disease. CT or MR imaging in patients with myelges should show normal muscles without facial thickening, fluid or enhancement. MRI is better for depicting muscle edema, facial stranding and post-contrast enhancement. Myromiolysis is a severe muscle injury that can lead to acute renal injury due to myoglobenuria.
