The Rotation of the Motion of Planets

I don't like, if this is not an ontological sort of claim, that there is no objective underlying reality. But these theories compete with each other to explain the very same aspect of nature that we have access to. I think it's weird to say that that paradime that replaced the ptolemaic paradime isn't closer to the truth of how those planets move. That's what i'm not quite getting. One is that
