Prussian War Preparations Have Been Worse Than the Austrians
Prince Louis Ferdinand of Prussia was one of the brightest rising stars in the Prussian army. He came from the very upper crust of the nobility, his grandfather was King Frederick William I. His father had been a senior general during the Seven Years' War. In the first episode, modern historians and musicologists consider him an important forerunner of the Romantic movement which would dominate European music in the mid-19th century.
