The Cardiovascular Drift Is a Real Deception

After an hour and a half, I was two minutes slower towards the end at the same heart rate. We lose that instinct as we start adding more stress, heat, wind in particular because we're not acutely aware of that like we are if we're going to pass a house with two Dobermans. It is easier for me the first 45 minutes when I don't have any cardiac drift to the body. All these things definitely throw it off a little bit. And even though we're training aerobically, then we still fatigue aerobically. But aerobic fatigue would be just what you described. So now we run slower after an hour or two because of that fatigue.
