The Existential Crisis of CD Shopping in 1993
In 1993, if you wanted to listen to an album, one album by anybody, your mother had to drive you to a second location. $20 got you one album and like a pretzel. Album covers from this era still unsettled me now in 2021. I would agonize over which of these album covers that I long ago internalized that I've already stared at for hours represents the album. This is all terribly stressful.
