Global Moratorium on Germline Gene Editing
I think the problem with going really rigid and particularly with tight legislation at the moment is that the technology is moving too fast. So I suspect where we're going to end up will be in that situation of creating regulatory authorities who have the capacity to operate within parameters rather than having really strict legal frameworks. Most scientists working in the field would like a global moratorium on germline gene editing in humans but they don't necessarily want to see research and that stopping. And I think we'll see more of that kind of thing happening. If it could be enforced wouldn't be the worst thing ever but it's a better one you can enforce it.
